The Pixie-Bob is a breed of domestic cat bred to resemble the North American Bobcat. Many people believe them to be descended from actual Bobcat/domestic cat crosses, however DNA testing has not proven this theory out.

Carol Brewer began in 1985 developing the breed, other breeders became involved and the Pixie-Bobs were accepted for championship status with TICA (The International Cat Association) in 1997. A female named Pixie from the first breeding is the namesake of the breed.

Pixie-Bobs have a ticked, wooly coat with muted spotting and can be either shorthaired or longhaired (a medium shaggy coat that does not mat). Colors range from tan, to reddish, to grey/brown. Many have a wild looking face with hooded eyes, a heavy brow and prominent chin. The feet are large and some cats are born polydactyl (with extra toes). A solid, stocky body type is preferred. They are considered medium large cats with males ranging from 12-20 pounds and females 8-12 pounds. These cats can develop slowly and continue to grow and fill out until they are 3-4 years old.

Pixie-Bobs are born with tails of all lengths, ranging from no tail (rumpy) to a full tail. Some breeders dock long tails to a shorter bobcat length and sell these kittens as pets. Kinks and knots in the tails are common and acceptable.

Pixie-Bobs are intelligent and loyal. They have a quiet, gentle nature, love to play and get along with other pets.

About Me –

I have been breeding Bengal Cats (Amantra Bengals) for 10 years now. I fell in love with Pixie-Bobs several years ago and have wanted one ever since! I have 3 now, and adore their wonderful sweet personalities as well as their irresistible Bobcat looking faces and coats. I will be offering a few litters of kittens a year, they will be sold as pets only to loving approved homes.
